Wedding day is one day when the bride wants everything to near perfection and not short of it is acceptable. It is the culmination of a life-renewing decision you made when you said ‘Yes’ to your partner. A new beginning, a new lease to your life, it’s a new saga unfolding! When the wedding day approaches closer and closer, it anxiety, excitement, nervousness… all these start to reach their pinnacle. There’s so much to plan and keep tab on. Wedding decoration, online hall booking, guest list, their stay, food, other small but important things, they all need to be managed but what tops all of this is that you have to look like a princess and that’s where makeup comes in.
Don’t worry ladies, we’ve got you covered. While your makeup artist in India will pop in four hours before the wedding to take charge of your makeup, we’ll give you little but important tips so that you can understand what your makeup artist is doing. Here we go.
Cleansing your face
Indian brides love using bold and bright colors for their wedding ceremonies. And these wedding ceremonies are long and tedious and in order to get that long lasting look it’s important to keep your face clean and dry, free from any dirt of oil. Start by cleansing your face well and drying it off well to make sure it’s clean.
To get a smooth and even skin tone appearance, you need to moisturise your face well. While moisturising, move your fingers in a circular and slow manner, massaging your face well. There are tinted moisturisers in market for you to use.
Face Fix ups
- Two minutes after moisturizing your face, use a primer and blend it well. This will keep your concealer and foundation in place plus keeps the makeup flawless for hours of functions. Chose your brand wisely!
- It’s time for concealer now. Now we don’t need to tell you that a concealer will help you cover spots or blemishes. One can opt for colored concealers to brighten up your skin tone while covering those spots on your skin.
- Use a foundation without SPF and blend it well with a makeup brush or sponge. Start slow from the center of your cheeks, now apply foundation on the other sides of your cheeks and blend till you achieve an even tone. You can go for a matte finish foundation too. Why we suggested a foundation without SPF? Because a foundation with SPF will give a ‘flash’ effect in your desirable photographs and they don’t look good. So, unless you’re taking your wedding vows in the middle of day when the sun is shining bright, it’s good to avoid it.
- To get a glowing look, use your highlighter on the higher planes of the face, such as the check bones, the nose bridge, the center of your forehead and the Cupid’s bow.
Ladies apply bronzer to contour their face and make it look chiseled and sharp in the photographs. Use an angular blush brush and apply some bronzer on the side of the chin. Repeat this on the sides of your forehead and two sides along the nose bone. Now suck your cheeks in and apply bronzer near your cheek bones, close to your ears in light strokes. Do not get carried away and apply along the entire length of the contour.
Take some blush on the brush and hold a steady smile on your pretty face. Now apply in a circular motion, blending it upwards and towards your ears.
We know Indian brides love bright red, green or fuchsia colored lehengas, ghagras or saris. A gold eye makeup goes superbly well with these color choices. Probably the safest bet to go for.
Talking to your makeup artist
When your make-up artist finally arrives, make sure to talk to them. Be clear what you want and how your make-up should look like. If the make-up artist is an amateur, do take some trial sessions before your wedding day.
These are some basic tips that everybody mostly knows, yes we understand that but it’s still important to go through them especially when it’s the most important day of your life. With wedding industry in India growing day by day, you can find the best makeup artists in India.
